Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette

Hi Everyone!

I don’t know about you guys but when Urban Decay announced their collaboration with Gwen Stefani, I got so so excited. I was a bit disappointed by the eye shadow palette, but I knew I needed the blush palette. The second it launched on UD’s website, I was on it. I have been playing with this for a few weeks now so I thought I would share my thoughts on it.

Packaging

DSC00385

Urban Decay nailed it on the packaging of this product. The white and gold is totally my style, it’s cute but in a chic kind of way. It is a little on the thick side, but it’s also pretty sturdy so I think that’s a fair trade off. I especially love the metal plate logo, it’s such a nice touch. As a side note, this has a huge mirror the the top/lid can be rested flat, major points for this UD!

The Shades

DSC00388

I think there are pros and cons to the shades chosen for this palette. First off, these blushes are all super soft and highly pigmented so that’s a huge win for me. However with that being said, I don’t necessarily agree with some of the shade choices for this palette. Now obviously Gwen Stefani has super fair skin and the shades in this palette are definitely created for light skin. Even though the palette is a collab with Gwen, I feel like they should have included colours that were still in line with her style that were more versatile. Some of these shades would never work on medium to deep skin tones, which I think is pretty unfair. I will go shade by shade next, but definitely this is something I noticed and to keep in mind if you considered purchasing this palette.

Cherry

DSC00389

The first shade in the top left is called Cherry. This is a super light baby pink shade. Although pigmented, this shade is pretty limited to fair to light skin. I don’t typically reach for shades as cool toned as this, as I think warmer blushes look better on me. Of course, even though it’s not my style it’s still a good quality blush. Not super original, but nice.

Easy

DSC00390

The next shade in this palette is called Easy. This a deeper cherry pink shade with gold shimmer. This shade is one that I do think has a little more versatility, but it doesn’t scream Gwen to me. With her signature red lip, I just can’t picture her wearing this. I don’t have a lot of shades like this one, so I think I need to play with this one more.

Angel

DSC00391.jpg

Angel is the highlight shade in the palette. It’s a champagne gold shade with soft gold shimmer throughout. I was kind of expecting this to be lighter since Gwen is so fair. It does work as a highlight on me even though it’s a little darker than I would normally go for, but I prefer it as a blush topper. This could definitely work on medium and deeper skin tones and fair can use as a blush topper, so I do think this shade is more versatile.

Lo-Fi

DSC00392

The next shade in the palette is the bronzer shade. I definitely appreciate that they included a bronzer with the blushes because it makes this super travel friendly. With that being said, I do think the shade choice here is odd. This shade is very warm, which sometimes can lean orange on pale skin like Gwen’s. I personally don’t mind warm bronzers and I don’t think this looks orange on me so don’t have an issue with this shade, but it definitely won’t be flattering on everyone or a shade that everyone likes.

Hush

DSC00394

This shade is by far my favourite in the palette. It’s a shimmery neutral pink-peach. I reach for neutral blushes the majority of the time which is probably why I like this so much. With that being said, this wouldn’t be very good for deeper skin tones, it would likely be more of a highlight. But on my skin tone this shade made the palette worth it for me.

OC

DSC00396

The last shade in the palette is called OC and it’s a light, true peach shade. I do enjoy warm blushes and this is a great mixing shade for me. Since it’s more satin and the rest of the blushes are shimmery, this is a great way to neutralize shimmery blushes. On it’s own, I don’t think this shade is going to work for a lot of people. It has a lot of yellow in it, which might be more difficult to pull off in my opinion rather than if it was peach with red or pink in it. On dark skin I have a feeling this would look ashy.

Final Thoughts

In all, I’m on the fence about this product. The shades are highly pigmented and incredibly soft, but some of the shade choices don’t make sense to me. Some are just not versatile to a wide range of consumers and others just don’t seem like they would be Gwen Stefani’s style. This is definitely a special collab and if you’re a Gwen fan it might be worth checking out. Hush definitely made this palette worth it for me, so I’m glad I picked it up, but I do wish some of the other shades selected were different. This is the Afterglow blush formula that UD already has in their permanent line so if anything I’m definitely going to check out some of their other shades since I really enjoy the formula of these.

If you have tried this palette, let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Too Faced Love Flushed Blushes-Full Collection and Swatches

Hi Everyone!

I have recently fallen in love with a blush formula and I wanted to share it with you in more detail. I have briefly mentioned these blushes here and there, but I recently picked up a few more and I now have the full collection. The formula of these is incredible and I have been reaching for these above all else for months. These are ridiculously long lasting on my skin type and highly pigmented. These are buttery smooth and come in a decent range of staple and unique shades. Basically they’re everything I could ask for in a blush. Blush is a key part of my makeup routine, I look a little sickly without it and these are my current go-to.

I know that everyone seems to go a little crazy for Nars blushes especially, but I honestly wouldn’t recommend those. I think they’re average quality for a crazy price tag. These are way better quality and are slightly cheaper. If you’re going to invest in a high end blush, definitely check these out.

Packaging

IMG_1100

I have to quickly mention the packaging on these, it’s freaking adorable. You’ll see in my close-ups but the inside also has a sweet little bunny pattern and the Too Faced logo pressed into the pan. It’s the little details and Too Faced nailed the packaging on these. Cuteness aside, these are nice and slim so they don’t really take up much room and they have a nice magnetic closure for added security. I have taken a couple of these traveling and had no issues.

Onto the swatches!

Baby Love

IMG_1102

This is the first one of this line that I ever picked up. This looks so basic in the pan, but it’s one of those perfectly neutral blushes that goes with any look. It’s hard to describe, but it’s like a peachy, soft nude shade. If I don’t know what blush to wear, I pick this one. Wearing a bold lip? I’ll pick this again. If you only own one blush and you want it to go with every look, this is a fantastic option. Or if you own many blushes, this is still a great neutral staple.

IMG_1104

Your Love is King

IMG_1105

This next shade is the darkest in the bunch, a rosy purple shade. Despite being fair skinned, I can wear this, applied with a light hand of course, with no problem at all. I love this shade for minimal makeup days because it just gives a great boost of life to my face. It brings a fresh, natural look to the cheeks.

IMG_1028

I Will Always Love You

IMG_1106

When I first saw these launch, this is the one I was most excited for. It’s a glowy peach which is right up my alley. Some of the others have very subtle shimmer, but this has an obvious sheen to it. I did just get this one, but I tested it on my face and it has a really beautiful luminosity. This is pretty neutral as well and will go with loads of looks. I also see this looking amazing on someone with a soft tan skin tone. For me, this is what I wanted Nars Orgasm to be and it never was. This has no chunky glitter, isn’t too red, but is much more peach and doesn’t make my skin look uneven. So if you weren’t satisfied by that one, try this instead.

IMG_1107
Love Hangover

IMG_1108

Love Hangover is like a warm rosy shade. I feel like this is pretty versatile as well and it’s a matte shade for people who don’t care for shimmer or someone who has skin issues they don’t want to highlight, which shimmer can contribute to. This shade is very doll like to me for some reason.

IMG_1109

How Deep is Your Love?

IMG_1110

This shade is one of the brighter ones in the collection and is almost a cross between a dark coral and a hot pink. It’s very fresh and warm shade that I think most skin tones will have no problem wearing.

IMG_1111

Justify My Love

IMG_1114

The last shade in the collection is Justify My Love. This is by far the most cool toned shade in the line and is a very cool toned almost bordering plum pink shade. Now I can’t sit back and say that this shade is 100% unique, because there are other shades like it. But the formula on this is superb, so if you wanted a shade in this tone, this is a great option. I will say that this one is probably better suited to fair to medium skin tones.

IMG_1115

So there you have it! I am so obsessed with these blushes, it is bordering on unhealthy; I never want to pick up anything else. Have you tried any of these shades? Let me know in the comments!

Collection Series Part 1: Blush

Hi Everyone!

Today marks the start of a new series! I showed you my Makeup Collection and Storage a few weeks ago, but I didn’t dive into what exactly was inside the storage. I thought it might be fun to look at different parts of my collection to see what I’ve collected. I was inspired to do this by Tati from GlamLifeGuru, she recently did a Makeup Graveyard series where she went through areas of her collection and got rid of stuff she didn’t like or stuff that had went bad. I may not get rid of much since I haven’t been collecting makeup that long, but I still think it’ll be fun to go through my collection and maybe I’ll pull out some stuff that I haven’t used for a little while.

This post has nothing to do with the amount of stuff I have, so please don’t take this as bragging in any way. Not my style at all. I am a blush junkie and I’m not sorry about it haha.

MAC Blushes

MAC Blushes

MACswatches

To start off my blush collection are my MAC blushes. They aren’t the softest blushes to the touch, but it doesn’t seem to affect the pigmentation. These are very pigmented, so less is definitely more because once you have too much, it’s not the easiest to blend out. I still love these and this palette is super handy for traveling.

Top Row (left to right): Margin, Peaches, Melba

Bottom Row (left to right): Fleur Power, Springsheen, Cantaloupe

Milani Baked Blushes

MilaniBlushes

Milaniswatches

Next in my collection are the Milani Baked Blushes. These are some of my absolute favourites, super smooth and very pigmented. These are also fairly inexpensive, at about $8 which is awesome for such a great blush. Sadly Milani isn’t really available in Canada, so I bought these online.

Left to right: Delizioso Pink, Luminoso, Bella Rosa

Makeup Geek Blushes

MUGBlushes

MUG swatches

Next I have 2 Makeup Geek blushes. I have mixed feelings on these. When I first put them on, it looks amazing. It’s pigmented and super smooth. So what’s the problem? By the end of the day- it’s not there anymore. I’m not sure what the issue is since my skin is pretty normal, but these just don’t wear well on me. I don’t reach for these often for that reason. I’m not sure if anyone else has run into this problem or my skin just doesn’t mesh with these. I think for $12, there are other blushes I like more than these that last much longer.

Left to right: Head Over Heels, Honeymoon

Essence Silky Touch Blushes

EssenceBlushes

The next 2 blushes in my collection are a great budget buy. These blushes are super smooth and most of all super inexpensive! I believe these are 2-$3 and you wouldn’t know it because these are comparable to high end- easily. If you can find these, pick them up!

Left to right: Life’s a Cherry, Adorable

BH Cosmetics Blush Palettes

BHblushes

In my collection I have 2 BH Blush Palettes. These aren’t amazing quality, but they’re okay since I paid less than $10 for each of them. I think these would be great for a beginner to have a variety of options pretty inexpensively. These swatch horribly, but they apply much better to the cheeks.

Glamorous

Bottom: Professional Blush Palette

ELF Blushes

ELFBlushes

ELF

Pink Passion, Mellow Mauve, Headliner ^

Next I have 2 ELF Studio blushes and one HD Liquid/Cream Blush.

The Powder blushes are $3 and are buttery soft and quite pigmented. It almost feels like a cream, it’s that soft. I haven’t reached for these in a bit, but it’s not because of quality. Only knock is the packaging, mine has faded from light getting in the little window in the lid.

Bright Pink- Pink Passion

Mauve- Mellow Mauve

The HD blush I have is INSANELY pigmented. You need like one drop to do both cheeks. I love this blush during the winter because it looks exactly like flush from the cold. If applied lightly, it’s one of the most natural blushes in my collection.

HD Blush- Headliner

Nars

NARSblush

orgasm

In my collection, I only own one Nars blush. I honestly don’t think these are worth their spendy price tag. I know that Nars blushes are insanely popular, but I think there are better blushes for less money. I have the infamous shade Orgasm and it’s almost gritty in texture. It’s pretty once it’s on, but it does need to be built up. I don’t reach for this as often as I thought I would when I purchased it.

NYX Blushes

NYXblushes

NYX

Next up are NYX blushes. There is nothing wrong with these, but for some reason I almost never reach for these. I have no idea why. No issues with quality, I just wonder if these aren’t the kind of shades I gravitate towards.

From Left to right: Pinched, Mocha

Miscellaneous

miscblushes

misc

The last section of my collection is the few misc blushes I have left.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush- far left (Luminous Flush)- The first of the misc. blushes is an Hourglass blush. I love this blush. It has the perfect amount of glow and the shade comes across very natural and neutral.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush- second from left (Tipsy)- Next I have one Tarte blush. This looks like a hot coral in the pan, but it’s much softer on. It doesn’t feel buttery to the touch, but it applies nice and smooth to the cheeks. It is also very long lasting.

Clinique Cheek Pop- third from left (Plum Pop). The third blush is a Clinique Cheek pop. I got this because I have no other shades like this and I appreciate that about it. it is such a different shade though, so it doesn’t go with tons of looks. I’m okay with that because it’s a really pretty shade.

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush- far right (Natural). The last of the randoms is from Physician’s Formula. I only have one of these because I do find Physician’s formula expensive for drug store. This is still a good blush. It’s pretty natural and neutral. I usually pick this up for ‘no makeup’ makeup days.

So there you have it, my blush collection! What else would you like to see in my Collection Series? Leave me a comment below!

September 2014 Favourites!

Hi Everyone!

September is nearing the end and that means it’s favourites time! I have really been experimenting with my makeup looks this month so I didn’t have obvious favourites right away, I had to think about these.

BH Blush Palettes

BH blush palettes

My first favourite for September is a ‘budget buy’. I picked up the Professional (left) and Glamorous (right) palettes earlier this month and I have been really enjoying the extra blush variety. I’ll admit when I first got these, I wasn’t too excited as they swatched horribly. Luckily they look much better on your cheeks than swatched. These were really inexpensive (about $7.50 each), yet I still have loads of variety. In addition to using them on their own, I’ve also been layering them with other blush to make unique combos.

bronzepeach

This bronzey-peach shade is one of my favourites. I own nothing like it, but it blends so beautifully with my bronzer to create a bronzed glowy look. This would have been a great summer shade, but I’m still wearing it into fall.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush- Luminous Flush

hourglassblush

On the complete opposite of the blush scale, my next favourite isn’t a budget buy by any means. I did get this in a blog sale, so I got a bit off even though it was never used. It’s a really pigmented, yet naturally looking corally-rose shade. This just gives me subtle glow and a nice flush of colour.

hourglassswatch

Lorac Pro Palette

ProPalette

No surprise here, but I have been loving the Pro Palette to death. I do really love this in combination with the Pro Palette 2, which was a favourite from last month, but this is beautiful on it’s own as well. I have been meaning to review this, but I do want to include some sample looks like I did for the Pro Palette 2, but every time I use this I’m usually heading right out the door to class. It just has so many great fall colours. I have particularly been loving Mauve, Sable, Espresso, Garnet and Lt. Bronze. These shades look especially stunning when I’m wearing my blue contacts!

Sigma Brushes- Flat Definer, E40, Pencil Brush

I have 3 favourites brushes this month. The Sigma Flat Definer brush has become a fast favourite of mine. This brush is a great size to quickly push colour into the lower lashline. I most often use this with a dark colour (like Sable or Espresso) to really define my lower lashline before I buff it out with my next favourite brush, which is the Sigma E30 Pencil Brush.

flatdefiner

I have never owned a pencil brush before this one and I must say there is nothing really like it. I will usually dip this in a lighter shade like Taupe from the Pro Palette or Lt Brown from the Pro 2 Palette and then buff it along the lower lashline to blend. It makes everything look so seamless. I think a pencil brush is a staple brush to have.

pencilbrush

The last brush I have been loving is the Sigma E40 Blending Brush. This brush is perfect for adding a transition colour. I love dipping this in my transition shade and with pretty little effort, my eye look looks really blended and smooth. It’s also great for softening the edges of crease colours. Overall, a very useful brush.

E40

Maybelline Colossal Volum Express Mascara

colossal

My second last favourite of the month is a drugstore mascara. I have been searching for a good drugstore mascara that doesn’t run and doesn’t make my eyes itchy and gives separation, length and volume of course. This isn’t perfect in the run department as it will run a little if my eyes are watery, but it’s not itchy and it gives amazing length, separation and volume. It doesn’t get clumpy at all and it gives loads of volume. I really like this mascara and it’s pretty inexpensive.

MAC Diva Lipstick

divadivaswatch

My last favourite for September has to go to MAC Diva lipstick. My friend Jen was recently at a MAC store and she brought this back for me because she knew I had my eye on it. It’s such a beautiful deep, vampy burgundy wine shade. I don’t have anything else like it, my dark lipsticks have a lot of purple in them where this is definitely red-wine toned. If you’re looking for a lip liner to pair with this Jordana Cabernet pairs perfectly and it’s super cheap. I have to add that this lipstick looks amazing on people with fair skin and blue eyes…ugggghhhh! The burgundy undertones contrast really well with blue eye colours making them pop like crazy! I know I will be wearing this TONS now that fall is here.

So there you have it, my September favourites! I have been loving transitioning to fall makeup this month and I can’t wait to experiment even more! Leave me a comment below and let me know what you have been loving in the month, I’d love to find some new potential favourites for October!

My Favourite Makeup Essentials for Glowing Skin

Image

Hey Everyone!

Okay so anyone who’s been with me for a while knows I’m pretty much on a life quest for the most glowy skin possible. I am addicted to highlighters and pretty much anything that claims to make my makeup look lit from within. Along the way I have discovered some great products that I thought I would share! I tried to be choosy because I have so many favourites, so these are the ones I’ve chosen for this post, but I of course have many other favourites. But let’s cut the jabbering and move on to the star(s) of the show.

Primers and Illuminators

The first category that I picked for this post is primers and illuminators. This is what I would consider base makeup, something that can be mixed with your foundation or goes under foundation.

L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer

Image

My first favourite is the L’Oreal Magic Lumi Primer. This is a recent add to my collection, but is by far my favourite primer I have ever used. It’s amazing. This is a liquid/thin cream formula that I apply right after my moisturizer and before my foundation. It gives the skin an almost metallic look at first and once foundation is put over top, it just gives this ‘I have healthy skin’ glow. I wouldn’t say that in terms of a primer it does a fabulous job, so for oily skin I would use this in combination with an oil controlling primer. But honestly just for the glow alone I would use this. Since I got this I have not put it down, nothing comes even close to this. If you want glowy skin, this is a fanstatic product to pick up.

Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights- Bare Light

Image

Image

The next product I love for glowy skin is one I’ve talked about before, as a Spring Essential but it has to be mentioned again. The Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights is the perfect product for someone who wants a subtle ‘pick me up’ to mix in with their foundation. It’s one of those products that isn’t really noticeable at first, but you notice when you don’t use it. I can just tell because my skin doesn’t look quite the same. This particular shade just gives a very light sunkissed effect to the skin. I just put my foundation on the back of my hand and add a couple drops of this and blend as normal. Now for fair skinned ladies like myself this shade can look a bit intimidating, but it really is not too dark and not remotely orange. I don’t notice a ton of colour from it, just enough to enhance the skin. For someone who likes very light face makeup, this would be a great add in for a boost. This also comes in 3 other shades for anyone who is interested.

NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray

Image

Although not a primer or illuminator, I am going to include the NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray in this category. This is magic in a bottle. I am completely obsessed with this stuff and I can’t get enough. My bottle is almost finished and I’m already dreading the day I can’t get a spray out of it. I have talked about this tons, but it deserves 1 million shout outs. This will take any good highlighter and make it amazing. It will take any powder and settle it completely. My makeup is not complete without this and I basically bathe in every time I do my makeup. It helps everything to stay put and look glowy the whole time!

Blushes

When trying to achieve glowy skin, we can’t forget about blushes. This is one of the best ways to look refreshed. For a while I thought I only liked matte blushes, but I just hadn’t found any good shimmery/illuminating blushes at that point. Since then I have mainly reached for shimmery blushes and I have found some great ones.

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush- Natural

Image

Image

The first blush I want to mention is perfect for someone who wants a glow, but a little more subtle. This blush applies on the skin just like a natural flush. It’s perfect for ‘no makeup makeup days’ because it looks like you just came in from a warm day outside. It does have shimmer, but not glitter, so it doesn’t come across over done. I still use a highlighter with this (remember I’m a glow junkie), but you could skip it for a super simple look. For someone who is new to makeup or goes for natural looks I would highly recommend this!

Milani Baked Blush- Luminoso

Image

Image

The last blush I wanted to mention is the ultimate blush for a glowy look. As opposed to the very natural flush that the Happy Booster Blush gives, this gives a very shimmery, glowy peach pop to your cheeks. It is the perfect summer shade in my opinion because it will really compliment a tan. This blush embodies a lit from within glow. It’s very finely milled so you can lightly dust it or apply it with a heavier hand and it never looks powdery. Lately I’ve been going a little heavier on blush because I noticed that it gives my face some more dimension. I think that if you’re looking to add a glow to your makeup look fairly inexpensively, this is a must-have.

Highlighters

Now onto the most obvious category, highlighters. I can’t go without highlighting and if I had to pick products to never be without, highlighters would for sure be one.

Benefit High Beam

Image

Image

The first highlighter I want to ‘highlight’ (oh the bad puns) is Benefit’s High Beam. Now I’ll say right away that this is not for subtle glow lovers. This is pigmented and very metallic so it definitely is more suited towards a more dramatic highlight. I like to very lightly dab this on my cheeks with a stipple brush and then top it with some powder highlighter to create a very glowy look. If you’re looking for the ultimate bright glow, give this a try.

MAC Cream Color Base- Hush

Image

Image

The next essential for glowing skin is a super recent add, but I already love it so I thought I would include it. It’s one of the most unique highlighters I have because I don’t have anything in this shade or with this much colour. This is my go-to when I want a really bronzey-peachy glow type of look, very sunkissed. I use a very light hand with this and it gives my cheekbones an almost wet look. It is a great product for people with dry skin because of its cream formula. It almost adds the look of moisture. Even though I have very fair skin, I can still wear this lightly, but for medium to dark skin this would be amazing as well.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick- Pink Quartz

Image

Image

Also a recent add (my last haul was highlighter filled) is the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz. This is one highlighter where you get instant impact, you put it on and BAM! There it is! This shade is perfect for my skin tone and because of the strong pink undertones it blends really well with pink toned blushes and makes your face look seamless with minimal blending. These shimmer bricks are sooo expensive, but this shade is so unique that it’s well worth the money. This product definitely brings the glow for sure!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette- Incandescent Light

Image

Image

My last makeup essential for glowing skin is from the Ambient Lighting Palette and it’s the middle shade, Incandescent Light. This shade is exclusive to this palette, which is now permanent. This shade is a champagne pearl shade that when first applied doesn’t appear to be anything special, but when it catches the light it gives the most beautiful subtle yet still noticeable glow. It’s really hard for me to describe this, it looks ordinary but it’s not. It’s perfect for a daytime highlight because it’s not as bright as say High Beam, but it still gives your face a little something-something.

There you have it! If you want glowy skin definitely check out some of these products and if there are any I should try please leave me a comment below. I read and reply to all comments and it’s honestly one of my favourite parts of blogging! I learn so much from other bloggers and all of you are so sweet!

Cherry Culture Haul!

Hey Everyone!

I’m back today with a haul! Who doesn’t love a good haul? This haul is from cherryculture.com and it’s mainly NYX stuff with a little Milani thrown in. NYX is tough to find in Canada and I don’t think Milani is available at all, so I decided I would order some to test these brands out. There are mixed reviews on this site, so I’ll give you my experience at the end.

Lips

I got a lot of lip products during this haul. I realized that this area was seriously lacking in my collection and with spring apparently here, I decided I needed some fresh lip colours. I have heard so much about the products I chose so I had to test them out for myself.

I knew for sure that I was going to pick up some of the NYX Butter Lipsticks and Butter Glosses. They have been pretty hyped up for a few months and I just couldn’t wait any longer.

Butter Lipsticks

I chose 3 shades out of the ones that Cherry Culture had, which was not the whole line. I picked bright, springy colours and steered away from reds and darks because I’m not into those at the moment. I want spring to come, so I’m trying to encourage it ๐Ÿ™‚ The colours I picked are called, Little Suzie, Razzle and Candy Buttons. I just got the package today so I haven’t worn these yet, but from swatching I can tell that they are pigmented, creamy and do have a stain effect. Candy Buttons is a medium peach shade and is the lightest of the shades I chose. Razzle is a fushia with a little purple undertone. Lastly, Little Suzie is a pinky-orangey coral. I think I made good shade choices, they are all pretty different and not like what I already own. I’ll see how these do on, but I can see myself with more of these.

Butter Glosses

Next I got 3 of the butter glosses. The site had quite a few of these, but I had to limit myself slightly. I picked Maple Blondie, Strawberry Parfait and Apple Strudel. First off these smell amazing. It’s a sweet, sugary vanilla smell, but it’s not sickeningly sweet. I appreciate a company that didn’t choose mint because that’s not my favourite. They are pigmented and from swatching, they don’t seem sticky. In the picture Maple Blondie and Apple Strudel look similar, but Apple Strudel is more orange in person. I think on the lips they’ll probably be fairly similar. Maple Blondie is pinky coral, Strawberry Parfait is a cool toned pinkย  and Apple Strudel is almost a light coral.

NYX Black Label Lipstick- India

The last lip product from Nyx I got was a Black Label Lipstick in the colour India. I really like Shaaanxo and she recommended this as a great nude style lip. I have already worn this and I really like it. It doesn’t wash me out and it’s not frosted.

Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color

I decided to pick up 2 of the Milani Liquid Lipsticks. They have 4 shades available, but I picked 2. These were created to be EXTREMELY bright and they delivered. I picked up Pink Rave, which is bright fuchsia and Fiery Coral which is a florescent coral, almost highlighter like. I wore Pink Rave yesterday and it is so long lasting!ย  These are super-duper pigmented and do have a staining effect. After washing my hand 3 times with rubbing alcohol and soap, I still have pigment on my hand. I think these are absolutely perfect for spring. I know I can rock Pink Rave for sure, but I may mix Fiery Coral with something to tone it down. I picture it being so stunning with a summer tan.

Lastly for lips, I got a free lip balm from Cherry Culture for spending over $25. They have a ton of flavours and I chose lime. It’s decent.

Eyes

Next I picked up some eye products.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils

I have been eying the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils for a long time, so I picked up 3 of those. I chose Strawberry Milk, which is a Glittery, light pink. I think this will be a great base with the Naked 3 palette. The second shade I picked is called Purple Velvet and it’s a deep plum shade. I want to experiement with a purple smoky eye and this will be perfect. Lastly I picked up Milk, which is pure white. I got this because anything I put over it will look brighter and I have eyeshadows that would look really vibrant over this.

NYX Cream Eyeshadow

I decided to try out a cream eyeshadow as well (can you tell I love eye bases?). The shade I picked is called Pinky Beige and I’m pretty obsessed with it. It is shimmery rose gold that dries to a powder finish. I will get so much use out of this with the Naked 3 palette. I think rose gold is really flattering for my hazel eyes. It looks coppery in the picture, but it’s much more pink in person.

Eyeliner

I decided to pick up some eyeliners because I actually didn’t own a black pencil (so weird). And the bronze eyeliner looked awesome.

I also decided to try out a new liquid liner since I haven’t used one in a while and I have to say this is awesome. It is so smooth and makes for easy, easy winged liner. The brush is really fine so it makes for a neat, smooth line. I love it. I know I will buy this again and again.

Face

Although I got so many lip and eye products, I picked up a couple face products.

Blush

I decided to get a couple of blushes because I heard they are pigmented and they are inexpensive, so win, win ๐Ÿ™‚ Two of the shades I picked ended up being similar which was surprising, but they’re still nice.

The first two are both NYX and they’re just basic pinks. Mocha is matte and darker, while Pinched has a little shimmer and it lighter. Mocha has a little more red or orange in it. And lastly I picked up Luminoso, the popular Milani blush, just to give it a try. It is shimmery peach. I usually like matte blushes, but I am looking to add more glow to my face, so I’m hoping this will do that.

The last thing I picked up is the Dewy Finish Setting Spray. I have an ELF setting spray, but the mist is not fine at all, so it literally blasts me in the face. Since my skin is normal/dry I thought the dewy feature would be a good thing to have around.

That’s the haul! All of this stuff is $3-$7 USD each, so not expensive. The pricing is right in the middle of super cheap and more high end prices.

CherryCulture.com

Since this website has mixed reviews I thought I would share my experiences, in hopes that it’s helpful. While I was going through the site I was googling swatches of shades and finding that they looked nothing like the pictures on the site. I would definitely reccommend googling the shades to get a more accurate picture, the ones on the site are not even close. I placed my order (shipping is determined by weight, no flat rate) and then it came up saying I needed to verify my account by sending them my ID with any details covered. I FREAKED. It really scared me that something was going to go wrong. Of course this was a Friday so I couldn’t sort out the problem then and there was no way in hell that I was sending them my ID. I waited until Monday and called to figure what options I had. I just verified my payment info over the phone and I was all set, it shipped the next day. My shipping option didn’t have a tracking number, so I assumed it would be a fairly slow delivery. I was so surprised when it came 10 days after placing my order. I was really impressed by that. Everything was packed tightly and everything came in tact. I would definitely order from this site again.

Overall I’m super happy with my haul! Let me know in the comments below if there is something from my haul that you’re dying to try, I’d love to know ๐Ÿ™‚

Bye for now,

Chelsey

P.S. Stay tuned for a tutorial coming soon!
